Sarrazy Rochelle bringen im Dezember ein Album heraus, das fünf verschiedene Versionen des auf ihrem vorigen Longplayer enthaltenen Songs “Qui s’en va un peu” enthält. Die Band, hinter deren Namen sich die beiden Musiker Marc Sarrazy und Lautent Rochelle verbergen, hat für dieses Vorhaben eine Phalanx an Gästen eingeladen, den Song in ihrer jeweiligen Sprache zu interpretieren und in ein passendes Soundgewandt zu packen. Nicht immer, aber oft ist die Instrumentierung einer der Sprache entsprechenden regionalen Musiktradition entlehnt. Das Album erscheint als 10″ inklusive ausführlicher Liner Notes zu den Beitragenden bei Les disques Linoleum.
“Singer bassist John Greaves, a figure of English jazz and underground pop of the 1980s, was chosen to perform the English version, delivering here a psychedelic jazz track. For the French version, Catherine Le Forestier (yes, Maxime’s sister) is carried by a string quartet and delivers a poignant performance, between semi-lyrical vocal delirium, incantation and poetic fever. More pop with its electro-kitsch accents, the Japanese version is whispered by singer Kirilola (Ex-girls). The Arabic version is rooted in an ethnic improvisation magnified by the inhabited song of Alima Hamel (Monkomarok) and the tribal percussions of Loïc Schild. We finally find the original version with Anja Kowalski to close this disc at the crossroads of genres and languages, irremediably open to this world that is going a little away.”
