Im Oktober erscheint auf Sacred Bones der Soundtrack zu “Halloween Kills”, dem Nachfolger zum 2018 erschienenen “Halloween”. In den letzten Jahren hat John Carpenter primär als Komponist gearbeitet – sein letzter Film „The Ward“ erschien vor zehn Jahren -, vor allem auf der bisher aus drei Teilen bestehenden „Lost Themes“-Reihe, die angelegt ist als “a soundtrack for the movies in your mind.” Untertsützt wird er von seinem Sohn Cody und Ray Davies‘ Sohn Daniel.
Michael Myers, von John Carpenter erstmalig 1978 auf das Publikum losgelassen, ist der vielleicht berühmteste Boogeyman der Filmgeschichte. Aber nicht nur der immer wieder auf(er)stehende, sein Gesicht hinter einer William Shatner nachempfundenen Maske verbergende Myers machte Carpenter berühmt, auch der lediglich aus fünf Tönen bestehende Halloween-Titeltrack ist aus dem popkulturellen Gedächtnis nicht mehr wegzudenken.
