Januar findet zum fünften mal die Veranstaltung Schatten Voraus in der Berliner 8MM Bar statt, die ganz im Zeichen des DDR-Tape-Underground der 80er Jahre steht, dessen bedeutende Exponate seit einigen Jahren in der Reihe Tapetopia auf Vinyl wiederveröffentlicht werden. <p>Amelie S. (Kalte Sterne) und Thomas Thyssen (Pagan Love Songs) im Schlepptau hatte, teilt sich diesmal das Pult mit Philipp Strobel. Auf dessen Label aufnahme + wiedergabe erscheinen mittlerweile alle Tapetopia-Tonträger. Der Abend wird schwerpunktmäßig im Zeichen von Dark- und Deep Wave stehen &#8211; &#8220;we&#8217;re torching fireworks of black mood&#8221;, heißt es verheißungsvoll im Programmtext.</p>

&#8220;Sara Persico (Napoli, 1993) is a sound artist, composer and performer based in Berlin. Her practice explores modes of storytelling across the expressive possibilities of the human voice and electronic sound. Her compulsive sonic dimension is shaped by the unusual impulsive vocal practice mixed with pulsations and a variety of frequencies.<br />
Her versatile and performative approach has led her in many collaborative projects with artists such as Tomomi Adachi, Evelyn Saylor’s vocal ensemble for Caterina Barbieri’s light-years show, Andy Moor (The Ex), Tony Elieh, Ludwig Wandinger, Dirar Kalash, Recordat, Francesca Grilli among others.</p>

<p>Tony Elieh is one of the pioneers of rock and experimental music in Lebanon. A founding member of the first post-rock group of post-war Lebanon, The Scrambled Eggs, he has since developed his unique electric bass skills in various groups and styles of music including collaborating with in groups such as Karkhana, Calamita and Wormholes Electric. In recent years he has performed a solo set of heavily processed bass generated sounds.</p>

<p>&#8220;Sea Urchin is Egyptian-Austrian artist Leila Hassan’s collaborative project with Francesco Cavaliere, exploring a unique blend of poetry and dub music, their practice modulates sine waves, tapes, and electroacoustic devices while turning fluorescent minerals, mirrors, and materials into ever-changing projections. The duo began in 2011 with the creation of “dragon water music cassettes,” a series of tapes that detail musical relations with objects, writings and textiles. In 2016, KRAAK records released their debut full length album Yaqaza, arabic for “daydream.”This year a new Lp titled Tahtib is out for the Bristol based record label Bokeh Versions.&#8221;</p>
