Acid Youth – ein Name, hinter dem der Producer Davide Glaser Nicosia steckt – bringt Ende des Monats eine neue EP heraus. “Reverse Darkness” enthält vier Tracks, die ganz unterschiedliche Dinge aus der Acid Tradition herausholen, wobei einige Passagen stark an den britischen Acid House-Sound ab den späten 80er erinnern, während andere Momente an Breakbeats oder n die schwere brachialeren Elektros erinnern. Charakteristisch sind die melodischen Strukturen, die sich wie ein roter Faden durch das Release ziehen. “Acid Youth is constantly focused on melody also in the acid music context”, heißt es beim Label – “the sound of a 303 is always listenable in every track.

The broken rhythms and the polyrhythmic forms give to the listener a free flow of sounds and melodies”. Vom Künbster ist das Album als ein stark persönlich gefärbtes Werk konzipiert, der Titel ist Programm: “The work reflects the everyday troubles Davide deals with as an individual but also as part of a community.
