Der in Mailand geborener und heute in Marseille lebender Klangkünstler und Komponist Alessandro Bosetti bringt in wenigen Wochen ein neues Album heraus, das im Zusammenhang mit dem Stuttgarter Ensemble Neue Vocalsolisten entstanden ist. Die einzelnen Tracks, in den Worten des Komponisten Porträts, sind aus einer Serie an Gesprächen entstanden, die im Laufe eines Sommers in Italien aufgezeichnet wurden. Zitate aus diesen Gesprächen wurden nach Stimmlage, Alter und Geschlecht ausgewählt, zerlegt und zu einem Palimpsest zusammengestellt. Bosetti betrachtet dies als “eine polyphone Schrift – Collage aus Tausenden von Fragmenten und Gesangsschrift für einen Porträtisten – eine elektroakustische Schrift und eine immersive szenische Schrift”. Aus dem Palimpsest entstand eine theatralische Aufführung, ein Hörspiel und jüngst der vorliegende Tonträger, der am 23. Februar als CD und zum Download bei Kohlhaas Records erscheinen wird. Das Artwork stammt von Canedocia, die auch das Kostümdesign für die Aufführung entwarf.

“A family of voices lives its sonic life. A tangle of sounds and affections suspended between Renaissance polyphony and family din. Voices have no body, at least here. Each one is mother, father, daughter and sister of one or the other. The family is in turn dismantled and reunited. Real dramas are unleashed between the voices: bonds, separations, friendships and love… A cloud of voices, charged like a storm, brings to life all the immersive emotions of an imaginary and magical community.
The portraitist shares this choral narrative with the listener, who finds themself immersed in a very tight crowd, both claustrophobic and nourishing, just like every family. The family of voices is torn between a rigid division of roles and its proliferating abstract and fragmented phonetic ration. Here, bodily, physical and political identities count for little: only the voices count, which, as markers of absolute generality, resemble souls to whom an identity has not yet been attributed”. Die Mailänder von Holidays Records bringen Ende Januar das Album “Plane/Talea 31–34″ des italienischen Komponisten Alessandro Bosetti heraus. Das auf Doppel-LP erscheinende Werk enthält vier Kompositioen, in denen jeweils kurze, repetitiv verwendete Details verschiedener gesampleter Stimmen miteinander und mit dezent eingesetzten Instrumenten – u.a. Hammondorgel, analoge Synthies, Ondes Martenot, Piano, Cembalo – komplexe Texturen bilden, die in ihrer internen Stimmigkeit wie ein unentwirrbares Muster erscheinen. “Plane/Talea 31–34″ ist Teil eines umfangreichen Stimmenarchivs, das Bosetti über mehrere Jahre angelegt hat und aus dessen Fundus vor einigen Jahren bereits die LP “Plane/Talea” erschienen ist. Vom Label heißt es: “The creation of the archive stems from dozens of individual meetings and recording sessions, in which each voice is detached from its owner or originator and anonymized. With each new iteration and performance, Bosetti plays the archive as if it were an instrument. He searches for hidden details and correspondences through exploration, immersion and contemplation. Each re-activation of the archive results in a dense and swarming polyphony made up of thousands of short utterances – shorter than any word bearing a meaning – recombined and interwoven into complex textures.”
