Das aus Ida Duelund und Maria Jagd bestehende Streicherduo Lueenas bringt in einigen Tagen einen eigens komponierten Soundtrack zum Film Baby Pyramid der Regisseurin Cecilie McNair heraus. Der Film behandelt das immer noch in vielen gesellschaftlichen Milieus tabuisierte Thema der kinderlosen Frau und dem Rechtfertigungsdruck, dem diese ausgesetzt ist. “Bearing a child and being a mother has for centuries been, and is still closely associated with the whole concept of ‘being a woman’”, betont Duelund. “A woman who does not become a mother – either voluntarily or involuntarily – is still a taboo in our society and is very often a complicated and many-faceted emotional situation to exist in. Either due to societal expectations, inner conflict, or a myriad of other factors.” Neben dem Original-Score, am dem die Vokalistin Emma Acs mitwirkt, ist eine Piano-Track enthalten, der die Urfassung zentraler Motive der Musik dokumentiert. Das Album erscheint nur wenige Wochen nach dem Debüt digital bei Barkhausen Recordings.

Das aus Maria Jagd (Violine, Bratsche Effekte) und Ida Duelund (Kontrabass, Effekte, Minitaur, Tanzmaus) bestehende dänische Duo Lueenas veröffentlicht in einigen Tagen sein selbstbetiteltes Albumdebüt. Mit von der Partie ist in einem Song die Vokalistin Emma Acs. Von ihren Erfahrungen in unterschiedlichen Musikgruppen zehrend und inspiriert durch sowohl klassischen Minimalismus als auch experimentelle Formen des Rock entstand ein eindringlich-cinematischer Stil, der mit abgenutzeen Begriffen wie Postrock nur schwer erfasst werden kann. Inhaltlich dreht sich vieles um das Weibliche in verschiedenen vorchristlichen Mythen und Heiligen Praktiken. Das Album erscheint in den gängigen Formaten bei Barkhausen Recordings.

Das siebenköpfige Kopenhagener Crush String Collective bringt Mitte Februar sein Albumdebüt heraus – “Aeriform”, so der Titel des zwölf Stücke umfassenden Releases, überzeugt mit improvisierten Klanglandschaften auf der Basis verschiedener Streichinstrumente und versteht die Kunst des aller Wahrscheinlichkeit nach spontanen, dialoghaften Changierens zwischen luftigen und opulenten, gelösten und dramatischen Momenten. Das Kollektiv besteht aus Julija Morgan (Violine), Maria Martine Jagd (Violine), Pauline Hogstrand (Bratsche), Tove Bagge (Bratsche), Oda Dyrnes (Cello), Ida Nørby (Cello) und Nicole Hogstrand (Cello). “There is a certain undeniable alchemy in the air when the Crush String Collective come together”, heißt es beim Label – “Playing with the magic of the moment, the Copenhagen-based ensemble of seasoned instrumentalists develop deep and impassioned soundscapes through their non-hierarchical group improvisations.
