“Presque Nature” entstand, wie man im begleittext erfährt, über einen Zeitraum von zehn Jahren und vereint Aufnahmen aus verschiedensten Orten: Wälder im Norden Frankreichs, die Sümpfe der Camargue, die Küste von La Ciotat oder die entlegenen Landschaften des pazifischen Inselstaates Vanuatus. Zwischen Vogelstimmen, Wind, Wasser und fernen mechanischen Sounds entfalten sich fein austarierte Schichtungen aus akustischen und elektronischen Klängen: Zither, Gopichandi, Becken, Gong und Piano. Der Komponist spricht in diesem Zusammenhang von Musik, die ebenso unbeweglich und zugleich lebendig sei wie die Natur selbst: getragen von winzigen, kaum wahrnehmbaren Veränderungen über längere Zeiträume hinweg. Die fünf Stücke des Albums folgen dieser Idee, sie entstehen aus Zufall, aus minimalen Eingriffen, aus geduldigem Zuhören. Feldaufnahmen bilden den Ausgangspunkt, Improvisationen u.a. am Bass reagieren auf sie. Das Album ist auch zum Download erhältlich.

“Since 1988, the date of the release of Détails, his first album, Laurent Pernice has gradually built up his battlefield, which is not far from extending to the whole planet. A multi-instrumentalist (bass, double bass, keyboards, erhu, percussion), he has produced nearly twenty albums in France, Belgium, Germany, Russia, Slovenia and Sweden, not to mention collaborations and compilations (Brazil, Japan, Australia…). In parallel to his personal work, he regularly works with the Artonik company (with which he performs all over the world), the experimental group Palo Alto and the science fiction writer Alain Damasio. [...] Born in Brittany, [Dominique Beven] studied Celtic music from 1975. He then toured Europe with the bagadou of Lann-Bihoué and Lorient.
