Gesamplete Sounds verschiedener Instrumente, sakral anmutender Chöre und zweckentfremdeter Geräusche, eine dublastige Produktion, zahlreiche Effekte und ein gekonntes Layering geben “Floodwaters” eine immer wieder unvorhersehbare Struktur. Das Album erscheint als Tape und digital beim polnischen Label Leidforschung.

“This work was partially inspired by a vivid dream I had last year where I looked outside to see my neighborhood – typical blocks from the late 70s – submerged a few stories deep. Similar imagery struck me shortly after when I saw the drowned city in The Ugly Swans by Konstantin Lopushansky; that film had the same dreamlike quality. I chose this theme before all the actual natural disasters this year, so it’s not just an echo of the news cycle”. (Bartek Kuszewski)
