Mitte Juni erscheint der zweite Longplayer des auf dunkle Elektronik und postindustrielle Klangwelten in den Randzonen des Songformats spezialisierten Duos Mission To The Sun. Das Duo besteht aus dem von seiner anderen Combo Ritual Howls her bekannten und an digitaler wie analoger Elektronik versierten Chris Samuels und dem Lyriker und Sänger Kirill Slavin (Delien, Fluxion A/D), der Titeltrack ist bereits als Single erhältlich. “Sophia Oscillations” knüpft

musikalisch wie textlich an das vor rund zwei Jahren erschienene Debüt “Cleansed by Fire” an und zeichnet ein düsteres, mitunter endzeitliches Bild zwischenmenschlicher Nähe und Distanz. “Christopher Samuels’ synths, samples and rhythmic programming is accented by Kirill Slavin’s haunting vocal delivery as the listener receives intersperse audio recordings from the outer reaches of inner space”, heißt es beim Label, ferner: “With Sophia Oscillations, Mission to the Sun offers a deeply concerning and otherworldly listening experience that showcases the band’s skill at crafting intricate sonic landscapes.

Felte Records bringen Anfang April das erste Album der amerikanischen Band Mission To The Sun heraus, einem Duo bestehend aus dem auch bei Ritual Howls mitwirkenden Christoph Samuals (Synthies, Samples, Programming) und Kiril Slavin (Texte, Gesang). “Cleansed by Fire” enthält acht Tracks im Grenzbereich zwischen Synthie Wave und dystopisch eingefärbten Industrial-Einflüssen, die sich auch in den zum Teil von J.G. Ballard inspirierten Lyrics finden. Das Album erscheint digital und 350mal im semitransparenten, olivgrünen Vinyl.
