Von der Künstlerin heißt es: “While working on this album, I was inspired by an antique postcard I once acquired. A personal message, somehow being sold in a market, crossed oceans and time, now telling me the story of past days. From one person to another, a hundred years ago. I wonder if it ever reached its intended recipient. There was a sensation that the presence of something highlighted its absence, or perhaps it shaped its form even in absence. The phrase ‘Unspoken Poetry’ came to me, and gradually became the source of inspiration, reflecting on unread and unsaid fragments of poetry, the interplay of presence and absence, and the intersection of time. In terms of sound quality, I focused on creating a texture that feels like a forgotten work salvaged in a future without its creator—a hazy quality like old straw paper. The sound design incorporates electronic instruments, guitar, and samples from non-instruments like stones and wood, along with sounds unintentionally captured in videos, test recordings, and accidental repetitions of errors. The process involved layering and intertwining past and present, constantly deconstructing and reconstructing, transforming the substance and contour of the sound. For the mixing, I worked closely with Sugimoto to finely balance each element while sharing the sonic vision for this project”.
