Hive Mind Records kündigen fürs kommende Frühjahr eine LP der obskuren georgischen Sängerin und Songwriterin Nino Gvilia an, auf der die beiden Minialben “Nicole” und “Overwhelmed by the Unexpected” kompiliert sind. Mit Zevi Bordovach (Synthies, Keyboard), Pietro Caramelli (E-Gitarre, Vocals), Giulia Pecora (Violine) und Clarissa Marino (Cello) sind einige Gäste beteiligt, Gvilia selbst steuert Gesang, Spielzeuggitarre, Hamonium, Samples und Field Recordings bei. Das Resultat, das seine Form (auch) der Turiner Produzentenschmiede Paul Beachamps verdankt, ist eine wagemutige Mixtur aus radiotauglichen Folkstücken und minimalistisch ausgerichtetem Experiment.
Ob Nino Gvilia nun existiert oder nicht – das Label behauptet nein – ist eine Frage, der wir uns enthalten.
