Es handelt sich dabei um eine rumpelige Interpretation des Shanties “Fifteen Men on the Dead Man’s Chest” mit der berühmten Bottle of Rum, dessen Urfassung aus Robert Louis Stevensons Schatzinsel stammt und der seitdem zahllose Interpretationen von Walt Disney über Astrid Lindgren und Michael Ende bis Mercyful Fate erfahren hat. Der Song war 2000 bereits auf einer Compilation zu hören.

“A rogue wave from the past! ‘Fifteen Men on the Deadman’s Chest’ was a live staple circa end of 1990′s during our, uh Pirate Phase… …There was for sure an album’s worth of songs left scattered in the flotsam & jetsam, but evidently the parrot ran off with the booty… …anyway, I can promise you that this is the goriest song to be featured in the In Gowan Ring repertoire: hope you enjoy our live recording at Mizpah Chapel in Portland, Oregon from 1999.” (B’ee)
