Rhythmus, Wiederholung und minimale melodische Gesten knüpfen an archetypische Muster osteuropäischer Folklore an, die zu vielteiligen Formen anwachsen. So entstehen verfremdete Tänze, deren Energie zwischen archaischen Feiergesten und der Wucht moderner elektronischer Texturen oszilliert. “Wrong Filament” ist dabei nicht bloß Experiment, sondern zugleich Feier und Widerstand. Die Musik trägt, wie es ferner heißt, Spuren von Gewalt und Ausbeutung in sich, formuliert aber ebenso Möglichkeiten von Gemeinschaft, Befreiung und geteilter Erfahrung jenseits industrieller Normierung. Piotrowicz erschafft so ein utopisches Geflecht aus Rhythmen und ritueller Intensität – ein Werk, das fiktive Geschichte in Gegenwart verwandelt. Das Album ist auch digital erhältlich.

“Whilst resembling a pipe organ alongside other acoustic sources all material is strictly synthetic. The impression of air being swept through the bellows… false. The spatial organisation suggesting it was recorded in large physical space, false! The long middle solo passage in Noumen must have been performed by some kind of wind instrument, no? False. All of these are elaborate tricks of the ear”. Bei diesem Spiel geht es dem Komponisten aber keineswegs um schlichte Mimesis, denn ähnlich wie mit synthetischen Duftstoffen heute der Echtheitseffekt nicht existierender Blüten- oder Holzdüfte erzeugt werden können, sind Piotrowiczs Produktionen auf einer traditionellen Orgel schon von der Stimmbarkeit her nicht umsetzbar. “The result are three compositions which comprise a rather unique harmonic composition. One that comes across both familiar and foreign”. Zusammenfassend bezeichnet das Label die Stücke als “an ambitious exploration of sound modelling and sound manipulation. Manipulation of both the tools deployed and to the listener with regards to the synthesis of acoustic deception. The result is a bold and dramatic shimmering mass of music.
