Horizons Refrain: Dreistündige Installation mit Sara Persico, Martina Bertoni und Aidan Baker im Berliner Monopol

Am 19. September lädt der Artspace Monopol in Berlins Norden zu einer mehrstündigen Soundinstallation unter dem Titel “Horizons Refrain”, in dem von Ross Alexander Payne kuratierten Projekt sind Sara Persico (Elektronik), Martina Bertoni (Cello) und Aidan Baker (Gitarre) live zu hören. Im Programmtext heißt es: “Horizons Refrain is an installative performance taking place over the course of three hours on September 19th at Monopol Berlin.

The first movement will start punctually at 19:00 whereby the composition will slowly evolve across the period of transition from day to night. It will be possible to take in all or part of the composition beginning in earnest with the second movement at 20:00, according to your availability during the evening, with each of the three musicians moving in and out of the space to contribute to the piece across the progression of the work. From 21:00 the third and culminative movement of the composition will begin, advancing towards its closure at 22:00. It is a pleasure to welcome you to join this unique experience at this very special time in the year as we experience the changing of the seasons from summer into autumn time”.

Im Lark in den Räumen des ehemaligen Marie Antoinette findet am Dienstag, den 20. Juni ein Konzertabend für experimentierfreudige Elektronik, Soundcollagen und Noise mit vier Berliner Acts -Tot Onyx (u.a. group A), Sara Persico, Omen und der auch unter dem Projektnamen Projecció bekannte Xavi Badosa alias Mega-O – statt, die zum teil Material ihrer aktuellen Alben vorstellen.

Sara Persico und Tony Elieh in der Berliner 8MM Bar

Am Mittwoch den 24. August spielen die Klangkünstler Sara Persico und Tony Elieh ein gemeinsames Set in der 8MM Bar in Berlin. Im Anschluss folgt ein DJ-Set von Nocturnerror, Eraclio.
“Sara Persico (Napoli, 1993) is a sound artist, composer and performer based in Berlin. Her practice explores modes of storytelling across the expressive possibilities of the human voice and electronic sound. Her compulsive sonic dimension is shaped by the unusual impulsive vocal practice mixed with pulsations and a variety of frequencies.
Her versatile and performative approach has led her in many collaborative projects with artists such as Tomomi Adachi, Evelyn Saylor’s vocal ensemble for Caterina Barbieri’s light-years show, Andy Moor (The Ex), Tony Elieh, Ludwig Wandinger, Dirar Kalash, Recordat, Francesca Grilli among others.

Tony Elieh is one of the pioneers of rock and experimental music in Lebanon. A founding member of the first post-rock group of post-war Lebanon, The Scrambled Eggs, he has since developed his unique electric bass skills in various groups and styles of music including collaborating with in groups such as Karkhana, Calamita and Wormholes Electric. In recent years he has performed a solo set of heavily processed bass generated sounds.
