Auf Noise a Noise erschien vor einigen Tagen das Livealbum “Moers Journey” des internationalen, aber stark auf musikalischen Traditionen Irans basierenden TEMBER Ensemble, das erst vor wenigen Wochen den Longplayer “Fall and Rise” veröffentlichte. “Moers Journey” basiert auf einem Mitschnitt ihrer Performance beim jüngsten Moers Jazz Festival und kombiniert die Klänge von Flöten, Perkussion und dem im Iran populären Saiteninstrument Santur mit Live-Elektronik zu einem wechselhaften Mosaik der unterschiedlichsten Stimmungsn, Klangfarben und Gangarten. Die Verwobenheit traditioneller und zeitgenössischer Soundquellen referiert auch an gesellschaftliche Themen, im Begleittext heißt es

dazu:: “This live album is performed and recorded in the renowned ‘Moers Jazz Festival’ in 2023, with each piece as an evocative narrative interwoven into their participation in the festival, not only encapsulating the essence of their musical identity but mostly paying attention to the issues in the political landscapes of Iran. This is a deep and sincere regard and respect for the whole body of human beings who work to bring awareness and amplify the sounds of people in Iran. This ensemble became a powerful medium for the ‘Woman, Life, Freedom’ movement in Germany, explicitly touching the subject with every spontaneous note and rhythm. The ensemble hopes that making art, and in case this effort to produce the album, can resonate with calls for peace in Iran, West-Asia, and move towards a more peaceful world”. Am Sonntag dem 26. November findet im Theater Aufbau Kreuzberg im Geböude des Aufbauverlags am Moritzplatz die erste Session der geplanten Eventreihe Boiling Harmonies statt – konzipiert als interdisziplinäre und interkulturelle, synergiebezogene Kooperation unterschiedlicher musikalischer und künstlerischer Acts. Daran knüpfen auch noch einmal die Mottos der Veranstaltung – “Inspire, ignite, improvise and synergise across borders and artistic media” und “Be a part of an extraordinary musical experience that transcends boundaries and advocates for change. Let’s unite, raise our voices, and move towards a more peaceful world” – an.

Zu sehen ist das aus Alireza Ostovar (Komposition, Elektronik), Valentina Bellanova (Nay, Flöte), Kioomars Musayyebi (Iranische Santur) und Petros Tzekos (Percussion) bestehende Tember Ensemble mit der Präsentation ihres aktuellen Albums “Moers Journey”, dessen Material auf einer Aufnahmen vom Moers Festival basiert. Ebenfalls tritt der deutsch-israelische Künstler Or Sarafati auf und präsentiert sein audiovisuelles Werk “Future Me”, während der mit elektrischer Gitarre und Synthesizer ausgestattete Soundartist Ernesto Cárcamo Cavazos seine “Study in Temporal Counterpoint No. 1″. DJ Zoe Bassi rundet das Programm vom Plattenteller aus ab.
