Nurse With Wound waren mit ihrem wandlungsreichen Stil zwischen Krautkrock, Ambient, Musique Concrète und einer gehörigen Portion Surrealismus und Dada immer ein Thema in Berlin, auch wenn es hier seit einem Jahrzehnt kein reguläres Konzert mehr von ihnen gab. Darbietungen außer der Reihe allerdings gab es immer wieder: Zusammen mit Blind Cave Salamander spielte die Band um Stephen Stapleton eine neue Version des Klassikers “Soliloquy for Lilith” in der Volksbühne, Stapleton und Andrew Liles traten zusammen mit David Tibet beim Schlagstrom Festival auf, Stapleton solo gab dort eines seiner die Nacht ausfüllenden Schlafkonzerte. Nicht zuletzt nahm Liles mit seinen visuellen Arbeiten an einer Ausstellung im Rahmen des Epicurean Escapism Festivals teil. Am 28. April wird die Band erstmals seit langem in Berlin auftreten, Ort der Veranstaltung ist die Sophienkirche in Mitte, die sich durch die Konzertreihe “Neue Musik” jüngst auch einen Namen bei Freunden ungewöhnlicher Musik gemacht hat.

Nurse With Wound have worked at the cutting-edge of meditative drone and ambient music for forty years. Their unique vision, in fluenced as much by Dada and Surrealism as by krautrock, cabaret and pop, has been fervently carried through a vast catalogue of releases, and they continue to break visual and sonic horizons. Nurse with Wound’s live performances consolidate all aspects of their practice into an ever-evolving experience, which is kept in flux by featuring an array of different guest musicians. Each live performance acts as a rehearsal for the next: no two shows are ever the same.”
