Etwa ein Jahr nach der Veröffentlichung ihres Albums “Sapropelic Pycnic” wird die von Spires That In The Sunset Rise her bekannte Musikerin Ka Baird ihre irgendwo im Grenzland zwischen experimentellem Folk, Improv und Neuer Musik rangierenden neuen Arbeiten auf einer ausgedehnten Herbsttour präsentieren. Der größte Teil ihres Terminkalenders ist für Europa reserviert, und so stehen auch vier deutsche Adressen auf dem Plan.

“We are standing on the verge of a great chasm! Ka Baird’s Sapropelic Pycnic uses tools both ancient and modern to draw all who listen – upward, toward the eternal. Baird’s crafting of textural rhythmic noise alongside lush operatic passages summons all of her physical, mental and spiritual energy within the wilds of her own unconscious. A live performance functions as an exorcism as Ka imbibes sounds to provoke unseen forces generating a different, yet equally as mesmerizing gig every night. As the dog days of summer give way to cool Fall nights, Ka travels from home base in NYC across the pond for various dates throughout Belgium and Germany then concluding with some final dates back in the Big Apple” (Drag City).
