Nur kurz nach ihrem auf SOFA herausgekommenen Album “Volatile” eröffnet das Quartett Dans Les Arbres eine eigene Bandcamp-Seite und startet die dortigen Aktivitäten erneut mit einem Longplayer. “Mausoleum” wurde live in der Grabhalle des Künstlers Emanuel Vigeland in Oslo aufgenommen. Neben den spezifischen Halleffekten des Ortes unterscheiden sich die fünf Tracks auch durch eine erweiterte Instrumentierung, die neben Klarinette, Gitarre und Percussion auch einige elektronische Klangerzeuger enthält. Pianist Christian Wallumrød vertauscht den Flügel diesmal ganz mit einem Synthie. In Zukunft soll die Bandcamp-Seite neben einzelnen Veröffentlichungen aus dem Backcatalogue v.a. ein Ort für teilweise kürzere Aufnahmen außer der Reihe sein.

“One of the major benefits from online platforms is that it allows us to release shorter pieces of music and experiments that are detached from the typical full-length formats. Also, it allows us to release music taken from our many experiments in various studios and performances with special guests. Our concert activity consists of improvisations carried out in an extremely wide range of rooms and concert halls. We may be performing in a dry club one night and in a concert hall, gallery or a reverberant mausoleum the next. Such conditions have an enormous impact on the development of our music.
