Das aus Kristoffer Lo und Tomas Järmyr bestehende Duo Yodok lädst gerne weitere Musiker ein, ihre Aufnahmen durch weitere, oft untypische Aspekte zu bereichern. Nach ihrer Zusammenarbeit mit Dirk Serries haben sie sich mit dem v.a. von der Jazzcore-Noisemaschine Zu bekannten Bassisten Massimo Pupillio zu einer improvisierten Session verabredet und den fünften Teil ihrer Veröffentlichungs-Reihe aufgenommen. “Yodok V” enthält einen einstündigen Track, der sich nach einem dronigen Auftakt in ein jazziges Wechselbad der freien Form, das in regelmäßigen und unregelmäßigen Abständen eruptive Höhepunkte setzt. Das Album erscheint Ende Mai neben dem Download auf 250 CDs bei Midira Records.
“V can be considered the 5th Yodok album and consists of one long track, created and performed in one take, start to finish. The album takes its time to evolve. The sounds are growing slowly and invite you to listen carefully. The first 10 minutes are a slowly crawling drone, you can feel and hear how it unleashes the energy of all three musicians. After that the track unfolds a jazzy aspect and V begins to get more active. All ends in a massive climax, moving between drone, noise and doomy freejazz. The album was mastered by Karl Daniel Lidén (A Swarm Of The Sun) who worked out the tension between the quiet and loud parts in a very gentle way.” (Midira)
