Die norwegische Pianistin und Komponistin Ingfrid Breie Nyhus veröffentlicht dieser Tage ihr neues Album “Slåttepiano II”, das nach einem kurzen “Forspill” drei Solotracks auf dem Flügel enthält und von der Tradition der norwegischen Slåttemusik inspiriert ist. 
Sie greifen den rauen und tiefen Klang der traditionellen “Rammeslåtter” auf, von denen gesagt wird, dass sie die Begleitmusiker seinerzeit in eine Trance versetzt hatten und ihr Spiel beeinflussten. Der hypnotische Minimalismus von Breie Nyhus’ Kompositionen, der trotz allem eine gewisse Wärme ausstrahlt, knüpft an diese Vorstellung an, was sich auch in den Titeln “Rammepiano I, II, II” – dt. “starkes Piano” – spiegelt.
