Relativ kurze Zeit nach ihrem fulminanten Live-Album “Ex Abrupto!” bringen die beiden Artetetra-Betreiber Matteo Pennesi und Luigi Monteanni ein neues Tape ihres Exotica, Digitales, Post-World Music, Improviation und Sampling verarbeitenden Projektes Babau heraus. “Flatland Explorations Vol​.​2″ ist Teil einer offenen Reihe improvisierter Aufnahmen, im Begleittext heißt es: “Flatland Explorations is an ever-growing collection of completely improvised attempts at mapping the surface and irregular

shapes of BABAU’s sonic flatland by means of audio manipulations and digital sorceries. Joining live recordings with studio material and field recordings, the duo crafts its unique sound made of granular illusions, midi extravaganza, wind instruments’ acrobacies, and vocal calembours. The results have been remarkably described as ‘the sound of a continent moving, ethnicities, animals, plants and mineral included.” Das Album erscheint wie bereits ihr im vorigen Jahr erschienener Longplayer “Stock Fantasy Zone” bei Discrepant.
