Die irische Sängerin und Musikerin Alison O’Donnell hat soeben ihr neues Album “Hark The Voice That Sings For All” veröffentlicht, es enthält elf neue Tracks aus eigener Feder, aber in der Tradition alter Folksongs ihrer Heimat. O’Donnell gründete in den 60ern noch als Teenager zusammen mit ihren Schulfreundinnen Clodagh Simonds (heute Fovea Hex) und Maria White die Folkrockband Mellow Candle. Die Band bestand acht Jahre und machte international von sich reden und dies nicht nur wegen gemeinsamer Auftritte mit bekannten Namen wie Genesis, Thin Lizzy, Donovan, The Chieftains oder Steeleye Span. Nach deren Auflösung ging die Musikerin füreinige Jahre nach Südafrika und gründete dort u.a. die Band Flibbertigibbet. Nach ihrer Rückkehr nach Europa nahm sie einige Soloarbeiten auf, spielte zudem in Kollaborationen oder im Rahmen von Bands wie The Owl Service und United Bible Studies. Ihr neues Album erscheint auf CD beim britischen Laberl Talking Elephant.
