Ende August veröffentlichen Glitterbeat das selbstbetitelte Albumdebüt der cypriotischen Combo Buzz’ Ayaz. Die Band um den bereits durch seine Gruppen Monsieur Doumani and Trio Tekke bekannten Instrumentalisten Antonis Antoniou stammt aus beiden Teilen der seit Generationen geteilten Hauptstadt Nicosia und will mit ihrer mitreißenden Musik – laut Label “a fuzzed-out urban soundscape of dubby electronics, 70s-psych organ, growling bass clarinet, amplified folk instruments, ritual beats and Greek and Anatolian melodicism” – sowohl der griechischen als auch der türkischen Seite der Stadt und der Insel eine adäquate Stimme geben.
