Das bekannte und von vielen als ungleich wahrgenommene Brüderpaar Christian und Fredrik Wallumrød, die seit 2012 ihr eher rhythmisch ausgerichtetes Duo Brutter gründeten, veröffentlichen eine Aufzeichnung ihres gemeinsamen Konzertes vom Les Instant Chavri-Festivals in Montreuil, Frankreich. Brutter, deren Musik primär auf Drums und diverser Elektronik basiert, zehrt stark von der Jazz- und Improv-erfahrung des einen und vom Rock- und Pop-Horizont des anderen Bruders und unterscheidet sich doch merklich von den bekanntere Arbeiten der beiden.“Brutter is a duo dive into machine and human driven beat music. They make their arrhytmics for a bumpy bleak dance floor by focussing on diverging pulses and patterns, using drums, drum machines and electronics. The duo was formed in 2012 and has made two albums, the self titled debut in 2015 and Reveal and Rise (2017), both on the label Hubro Music. The brothers had their education at the Trondheim Conservatory in the early nineties, and have since then been working down quite different musical lanes. Drummer and vocalist Fredrik has played in various rock and metal bands such as Span, El Caco and Dog Almighty, in addition to his work with singer-songwriter Susanna and soul/r&b artist Jarle Bernhoft.
