Am 4. September findet im Rahmen der Reihe Sound Portraits ein Themenabend zum Werk des Komponisten und Klangkünstlers Thomas Ankersmit im Berliner Konzertraum KM28 statt. Über den Künstler heißt es vom Veranstalter: “His music combines intricate sonic detail and raw electric power, with a very physical and spatial experience of sound. Acoustic phenomena such as infrasound and otoacoustic emissions (sounds emanating from inside the head, generated by the ears themselves) play an important role in his work, as does a deliberate, creative misuse of the equipment”. Bei dem Event werden verschiedene Arbeiten Ankersmits präsentiert, anschließend findet ein Artist Talk zu technischen und psychoakustischen Aspekten seinerArbeit statt. Abgeschlossen wird die Veranstaltung mit einer kleinen Performance. Aufgrund der limitierten Sitzplätze empfielt sich eine rechtzeitige Reservierung.

Each session focuses on a different artist, and together we’ll listen to their work, talk with the artist about ideas behind the work, and watch small performances or demonstrations from each artist.”
