Der Belgier Gert De Meester, der als überzeugtes Stil-Chamäleon gilt und in den vergangenen Jahren als Bassist mit einer ganzen Reihe an Bands und Projekten eher songorientierter Rock-, Pop- und Funkmusik sowie als Producer elektronischer Musik von sich reden machte, belebt mit “Inperspectycon Vol.1″ sein im Alleingang betriebenes Ambientprojekt Distant Fires Burning neu. Auch auf “Inperspectycon Vol.1″ stellt die Bassgitarre die zentrale Soundquelle dar und wird einer Vielzahl von Effekten unterzogen. Inhaltlich ist das Album von den psychosozialen Auswirkungen der Corona-Pandemie inspiriert, die der neben seiner Musik als Sozialarbeiter tätige De Meester täglich zu sehen bekam.
