Im Rahmen der vom gleichnamigen Portal betriebenen Radiosendung “Underground Institute Picks” spielt die Geigerin Julia Kent heute eine einstündige Playlist unter dem Motto “Blood and Breath”. Gespielt werden u.a. Tracks von Moor Mother, Jlin, Pharmakon, Okkyung Lee und Sarah Davachi sowie ein eigenes Stück. Kent nachte erstmals in den 90ern als Mitglied der String Rock-Combo Rasputina in einem etwas größeren Rahmen von sich reden. Auch wenn sie später in zahlreichen songorientierten Arbeiten (Rufus Wainwright, Backworld, Antony and the Johnsons u.v.a.) mitwirkte, widmete sie sich v.a. in ihren Soloarbeiten sowie in Klangkunstprojekten wie Blind Cave Salamander abstrakteren Kompositionen. Die Sendung beginnt um 17 Uhr mitteleuropäischer Zeit und ist später im Mixcloud des Undergroud Institut abrufbar.
